Heather Siskind brings an impressive 30-year journey through the world of early childhood education to her role as CEO of the esteemed Jack & Jill Center. As a stalwart leader in the field, she is steering this renowned nonprofit organization, the longest-standing provider of early childhood education in Broward County, towards a brighter future.
Heather's unwavering dedication to early childhood education was ignited during her formative years in Illinois, where she grew up with limited resources. From her early days, shxe felt a profound connection to the cause and would passionately volunteer at the very childcare center that had nurtured her as a young girl.
In her current capacity as CEO, Heather holds the reins of the Jack & Jill Center, shaping its strategic vision, cultivating a secure and enriching learning atmosphere, guiding a dedicated team, stewarding financial resources, and fostering fruitful relationships with the Center's board, parents, community leaders, and fellow early childhood advocates.
Since taking the helm in 2014, Heather's leadership has seen Jack & Jill Center expand its offerings to include the Madelaine Halmos Academy, an elementary school serving students from kindergarten through 5th grade.
Heather's illustrious career also encompasses roles such as the Director of Dependent Care Services at Baptist Health South Florida, where she oversaw four early learning centers, and prior positions as Director of Early Childhood Programs at organizations like the YWCA of Greater Miami-Dade and Miami-Dade College.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Heather's commitment to empowering women, promoting educational and racial equity, and advocating for high-quality early education shines brightly. Her tenure as President of the Florida Association for the Education of Young Children and her recognition by the Women's Edge as one of the Top Women-Led Businesses in Florida in 2020 through 2022 underscore her impact.
A true believer in helping others achieve their potential, Heather has coached numerous women in attaining higher educational goals and securing meaningful employment. She staunchly champions the belief that every child deserves a top-notch early education.
Heather is a proud holder of both a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Florida International University and earned two associate degrees from Miami Dade College. She currently calls Plantation, Florida home, where she resides with her family, rescue dogs, and cats.
Her interests are as diverse as her career, including a passion for reading, certification as a yoga instructor, a deep appreciation for art, a green thumb as a plant mom, and an unwavering love for animals. When she's not immersed in her professional endeavors, you can often find her participating in 5Ks and 10Ks, surrounded by friends and family, embracing life to the fullest.
